

The Gibson Centre is an 1883 heritage building that began its life as a factory. It has been transformed into a centre for community, arts and culture. It offers a performance hall, banquet facilities, art gallery, café, gift shop, studio spaces, workshop and more. The Gibson Centre is home to the 54 Plus Seniors Centre, the South Simcoe Arts Council and the Rotary Club of Alliston. Creative arts, drama, performance, music and art classes are available for all ages. The centre is a multi-purpose facility regularly used for seasonal concert series, featuring a variety of professional performers. It also hosts the Arts by the River Festival of Visual Arts. The gallery is a co-operative organization of area artists and artisans showing an eclectic array of original artwork.

The South Simcoe Arts Council seeks to foster the cultural enrichment of the area through appreciation of, support for and involvement with the arts. It produces quarterly newsletters featuring arts events in the community and an annual directory of arts groups, individuals and businesses in the area as well as organizes summer art camps, speaker's corner, choral workshops, e-talk and the Festival of the Arts; a celebration of music, art, dance, storytelling and drama.

The community museum open year-round is located off Fletcher Crescent in Alliston's Riverdale Park, just west of Stevenson Memorial Hospital. It features three heritage structures, a log house, barn and agricultural fair building. Special events are held throughout the year.
