The three day event includes a massive parade, fairgrounds, agricultural exhibits, craft and food vendors, flea markets, live entertainment and street performers, volunteer group displays and of course POTATOES.All events are open to the general public. Promotional material is geared toward residents, visitors and tourists. All events are free of charge to the public, with the exception of the fairgrounds which has a gate entry fee. Each year upwards of 40,000 attend the three day festival.
The festival continues to be a community affair. It has remained, for some of the non-profit organizations, their biggest fund raising event of the year. For 36 years, the Alliston Potato Festival had continued to play an active role in the community and continues to lend a helping hand to various organizations.
The Festival is supported by local volunteer groups, and the steering Committee is made up of volunteers. There are no paid staff.
